Superkids- Writing a Poem with similes

Step 1 Plan: Think of what to write.
(Choose the creature, pet, or imaginary animal. Give children a moment to think about what kind of animal they will write about, what it looks like, where it lives, and whether it’s a “he” or “she.”)

Make a web similar to the one in class. In the center of the web should be your animal and it’s features i.e. wings, tails, nose, hair, fur, scales, breath, voice etc.  Then describe each feature using the words like and as. For example, his breath is as smelly as blue cheese.

2.Write what kind of pet it is and where it lives.
