Field Trip to SF Zoo- Can you Come?

Hello Parents, 

Since our next field trip is very soon after we return from Christmas break, I am looking to secure 2 more chaperones before the Christmas break.

The field trip will be to San Francisco Zoo, on Tuesday, January 16th.

If you would be happy to volunteer your time please email me. If you have previously chaperoned, please know you're welcome to again.

Superkids- Study for spelling test tomorrow!

Writing- Please write at least 5 sentences telling me what your favorite family Christmas tradition is. It can be about food, celebrations, tree decorations, anything that is treasured or memorable. Remember to use correct punctuation and no run on sentences. Lastly,  draw a picture of your favorite Christmas tradition. 

Turn in goal for this week. 

Star of the week compliments are due tomorrow. 

Please bring in sandwiches for the needy. 2nd and 6th grade take the lead. 

See you at Sunday's Family Mass.

Family Mass this Sunday!

Welcome Back!

This Sunday is our 10 am Family Mass lead by our 2nd and 7th graders. 

Please have students wear their church clothes. We will be sitting in the first few pews as a class. Arrive no later than 9:50.

Please email Mrs. Byrne or send a note to school if your child cannot attend mass this Sunday. 

No homework next Monday and Tuesday if you attend mass. 

I HAVE four candidates for prayers of the faithful petitions and one candidate as a gift bearer.

2nd Grade Thanksgiving Party- Tuesday, November 21st

Please respond below/comment if you would like to bring in food. Write what you will be bringing to the class party. Please bring all food at arrival. You must bring in enough food for 20 students. All food should be washed, cut, and easy to serve. Only one item from each category will be allowed. Also only parents who signed up on this blog ahead of time may bring in treats for the party. WCEA/WASC Parent Survey 

STM is inviting parents to participate in a parent survey for the WCEA school accreditation process. It will be electronically collated and the results will be incorporated into our next WASC/WCEA study. For those of you not familiar with the process of accreditation, our school is certified by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, or WASC for short. WASC is an association that ensures that schools meet various standards in all aspects of running a school. For more information on WCEA/WASC, check out their website at www.westwcea.orgPlease complete this survey by Friday, November 10, 2017.

Social Studies- Make a Family Tree.

Use the rough draft you made in class to help you. Your family tree should date back to your grandparents. If you can go farther or want to include more extended relatives, please do so. If your family and you do not know the name of a relative, make it up. No one will know. Please draw or attach a picture of each person in your family tree.

Also there is a regular sized white paper in the red folder for you to use, but if you want to use your own paper and make it bigger please do so.

Discuss the family tree with your parents. What traditions are passed down in your family tree? Practice reading and discussing your family tree at home. You will be presenting them next week. Turn in your Family Tree on Monday, October 30th.
